Dim Sum Dollies and Lor Mai Guys

Another wonderful and funny musical production by the Dream Academy - Dim Sum Dollies in The History of Singapore! It is showing at the Esplanade from 21 to 28 February 2008. My friend and I went for the Saturday 23 February 2008, 8pm show.

I really enjoyed the humour, music and stage play of this production. These girls (Selena Tan, Emma Young and Pamela Oei) are really humours and daring. They serve up dollops of jokes and funny analogies together with Singapore superboy Hossan Leong. I laughed my hearts out totally.

Many skits run from the familiar themes, TV shows and history of Singapore right from the very beginning of how Singapore was formed by a snot. Eeeww... hahaha!!! Go experience the fun and thrill of this musical. It is worth the ticket price.

I'm looking forward to their other productions and musicals. I got to admit, I have a wonderful birthday month this year. I have taken a big step forwards on the personal level, and gave myself many beautiful treats from photo shooting to movies, musical and a couple of nice dates. Again Happy Birthday to myself and may I always stay healthy, cheerful and beautiful. Woohoo!

Sweet Sweet Mr T

Bow to the great Tim Burton! He is truely a master. His movies are always so intriguing, mysterious, charming, dark and yet heartwarming too.

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street is a musical movie as like other Tim Burton movies has two excellent actors, Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter. Such an unlikely couple who are evil and yet cute to the bone.

Story told of a Mr Sweeney Todd arrived in Fleet Street, London. He is no stranger to this city. In fact, he is a ghost of this old self, back for revenge. Plotting and scheming with Mrs Lovett, both cover up for each other as they try to accomplish their goals.

Wonderfully and beautifully done. This movie is worth watching. But do watch out for the bloody and violent scene. I have to deduct 1/2 cloud due to the vivid scenes in the movie. Give it a try. It's worth the scare!

Kung Fun Dunk... Junk?

On V-day, I went on a date to watch Kung Fu Dunk. The date was fun, I had a great time. It has been many many moons since I watch a chinese movie in the cinema.

I'm not a typical chinese movie fan. There are a lot of cgi/animation in the shows. Great for people who are into it and also the fans of Jay Chou. The only comments I have is that it has many cute looking boys and this obviously charm many young girls.

The story is rather predicatable and follow the typical expected flow of how things should piece together such as understand first important concept you learnt during childhood and giving up a luxurious comfy life to be with your best pal in life. Its a big big hmm for me too. Maybe I'm just being materialistic. Nothing wrong to be a little practical about life. :P
