Late Nite @ Esplanade: One SINGular Sensation

I have a wonderful evening at the Esplanade, watching Late Nite @ Esplanade: One SINGular Sensation by Selena Tan.

It was a charming, witty, seductive and sultry evening with the lovely Selena. She took us through the journey of time from rock to country to musical numbers, spicing it up with a couple of medley of her young childhood Talentine's and Mas Selamat jokes.

Overall, it is very humorous, light, entertaining and enjoyable. Well done, once again. I'm already looking forward for her as well as the Dim Sum Dollies performance in the future.

Tales from Earthsea

Some of us are familiar with the adventure of Ged and the lovely priestess Tenar in the first two books of the Earthsea series. The animation Tales from Earthsea is taken from the 3rd and 4th Earthsea series.

Produced by Studio Ghilbi (yes! I'm a big big fan!!), the animation is pretty well done. Though I suspect there is a lot of editing in cutting down much of the story to fit into a 2 hours long animation.

The story tells of Prince Arren who has killed his father and ran away from home. He met with the greatest magician, Ged, the Archmage of The Magic School of Roke. Arren slowly came to face his own demon (Shadow) as he unites with Therru on a journey in search of the evil who has disrupted the Balance of the world.

I love the story and the animation. A great animation to watch anytime of the time.

The Cookie Museum for the Cookie Monsters

After my musical at the Esplanade, my friend and I popped over to the Cookie Museum to try out their seasonal promotions. There are small samplers of all the cookie they baked. The Chinese New Year range is especially intriguing to all your senses!!!

They have a variety of Ingots & Teals (spicy scallop), Nasi Lemak, Laksa, Hae Bee Hiam, Lau Cheong, etc. I high recommend the Hae Bee Hiam. It is unique, spicy and surprising to the taste bud. The balance blend of sweetness of cookie with the hotness of the dried chili and of course the main lead, hae bee. Perfectly and wonderfully made recipe!

The rest of the flowery and fruity cookies are also a savoury. I especially love the Cranberry and Lychee. The cookie melts in your mouth with a burst of cranberry tarty taste and lychee sweetness. As you bite into the cookie, you get a mouthful of crunchy roasted almond. A perfect wonderful little snack to go with a nice cup of earl grey tea. Hmm... high tea time!

On the topic of high tea, the English lush decoration of the Cookie Museum is another attraction. You feel as if you have walked into a traditional European house, and the butler is just around the corner, waiting to serve you tea and Madelaine. I will make another trip to the Cookie Museum for high tea and do a little more recommendation.
